Description

DAOstack is a software stack for building decentralized applications, decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), and DAO governance tools with adaptive, modular, and upgradable structures. The platform enables communities to self-organize and coordinate around shared goals without centralized authority, providing everything needed to manage communities without hierarchical oversight. DAOstack combines technical infrastructure for smart contracts with governance mechanisms and voting protocols designed for collective decision-making.

However, DAOstack faced significant challenges in its evolution. Genesis Alpha, the DAO that facilitated community governance of DAOstack itself, eventually disbanded due to misalignment between participants and the DAOstack team over accountability, community building, and fund management efficiency. Despite these challenges, DAOstack's foundational approach to decentralized governance contributed important patterns to the broader DAO ecosystem.
