Description

Design Science Studio is a decade-long anticipatory art and design-driven incubator that empowers global creators, systems thinkers, organizations and initiatives to imagine, collaborate and create regenerative futures for all life. Led by habRitual and fiscally sponsored by the Buckminster Fuller Institute, the studio was founded by Roxanna Shohadaee (founder of habRitual), Amanda Joy Ravenhill (former BFI director), and Faith Flanigan (former BFI director of operations).

The organization operates as an educational incubator rooted in Buckminster Fuller's Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science principles—a whole-systems approach to "make the world work for 100% of humanity in the shortest time possible." Through its programming, DSS mentors and scaffolds international cohorts of 144 creators and projects annually, accelerating the transition to regenerative paradigms that shift culture from extraction to regeneration, from weaponry to livingry, and from me to we.

The studio explicitly welcomes established and emerging artists, artists of color, LGBTQIA+ creators, undocumented artists, unhoused artists, and individuals from marginalized communities—recognizing creators across disciplines including fine artists, designers, performers, philosophers, ecologists, and systems thinkers as cultural stewards and worldbuilders.
