Sharad Sharma is a digital infrastructure pioneer and thought leader who has shaped India's approach to digital public goods through his co-founding of iSPIRT (now rebranded as Co-Develop) and his central role in conceptualizing and realizing India Stack. Rather than building a single monolithic government system, Sharma championed a modular, API-first approach where foundational digital infrastructure—digital identity (Aadhaar), electronic know-your-customer (eKYC), and payment systems—could be built by government and made openly available to private companies and civil society.
